This is the SLG blog that Lief never wanted to start. But Thomas started it for me and challenged me to make it better and hey, I took the challenge and here it is, and I hope with every post it is a better, and more entertaining blog.

Inspiration

OK people, you see we are getting inspiration from all over the world.
I can feel the SLG vibes picking up slowly but surely. Saturday night the "Minnesota terrorists" called (am I going to get in trouble with Bush for putting that word in my e-mails) aka Larry and Steve called. The Minnesota chapter (or half of it, after all, we have 4 members in Minnesota) was having a meeting and wanted to check with headquarters how the preparations for the marathon weekend in Chicago were coming along. It seems to be a bit early to be this much organized but I love their enthousiam. (sp?)
Sunday was the first official SLG middle distance training run in the park, just to find out how far we have fallen back since November 6th. Attendance was meager at best. Gil showed up and Thomas took part in his first official SLG training run.
Clem ran his first marathon of the year yesterday in Malta but I haven't heard how it went. He is probably enjoying some R and R there before heading back home so I am sure we will hear from him in the next few days.
So, things are still fairly quiet on the SLG front but I am sure things will be picking up later this month when people are starting to realize that the New Jersey half is not that far off. There is a 15 k in the park this coming Sunday and the course for it couldn't be better. I urge all locals to participate in that one. Then I am off to Utah for my altitude training (haha) so that I will be in great shape (yeah right) for the More Half marathon. Lief
